I feel like everyone lost sight of what mauler was pointing out. The specifics are not important. Their current state at the moment of the tragedy is not the end all be all. Knowing what causes someone to get to that state is important if you want to remedy the problem (at least that is what Moore is pointing to).

Thanos says "Grateful Universe" Not "Grateful Earth" Earths population kept in check doesnt affect the Universe. Thanos halved the population of other planets simultaneously, thats easily going to surpass WW2s bodycount And with our current population in the billions as is, half of that will still be more. The population now obviously multiplied since the 30s But again, could be wrong but WW2 was a slow burn more horrific in execution of events, but is not even close to what Thanos did in a second in numbers. And yet Thanos was not torturing or ethnic cleansing, which is why he considered it mercy. From what I remember the politics of "Joker" leans left. It's not crazy left, but iirc the major complaints the citizens had was that they wanted more/better social services and were upset at the rich. A "the haves vs the have nots" narrative. That is more of a lefty take.

I think that the reason why people like MovieBob hates Joker so much is because 1. They are the cause of why people like Joker exist, or 2. They are in denial that they are about to become the Joker

It's astounding how little self-awareness MovieBob has to try and talk down to Michael Moore, as if he doesn't know what he's talking about. Regardless of what one thinks either's political beliefs, the vast difference in their intellect is so very clear.

Season three was saved by Jenson Ackles as Soldier Boy stealing every scene he was in and making the dynamic of the series different. I watched the first four episodes of this season and it's really fallen off. Any sense of subtly or finesse in the writing has been abandoned for the most ham fisted politics and shock value on television.

I think the One Punch Man "limiter" explanation is THE explanation and that's what makes it "not-plot-armor". In the books (the anime is getting there at some point, I suppose) I think Zombieman does some investigating and the guy from the House of Evolution explains that he met the man that completely broke his limiter (though, the joke is, he doesn't say it's Saitama, because he doesn't know his name). Then we see the same thing happening with Garou, the more pain he goes through, he evolves and turns inhuman. It would be unfair to accept that the series has a giant centipede, aliens, sentient gorrilas and various mutated humanoids, but the "limiter" is "a vague theory". No, it's the explanation. The same way some guy turned into Crablante, because he loved eating crabs so much, Saitama has become indestructible one punch man, because he broke the limits of existence.

He's never made one documentary all of then are classified as satire because he alters so much it can't be considered a documentary.

I started watching it and was enjoying it for the first few minutes, then he started going in a rant about “toxic masculinity” when describing Batman, and right there I knew the guy was a joke 😂

Side point, but: Joker; You Were Never Really Here (another great Phoenix performance); and Taxi Driver make for a good trilogy of movies to watch. All branch out to say differing things about the subtext(s) they're exploring, but are also within the same ballpark. And all are captivating.

Wait I got it: If we are using the Layman’s term for water, that being the clear liquid that covers most of the earth, we have to use the Layman’s term for wet. And thus water is wet in layman’s terms If we use the scientific term of wet, that being a liquid making contact with a solid surface. Than we have to use the scientific term for water. That being the molecule of H2O. Which includes ice and water vapor. In that sense Water is not wet. Water is typically wetting, and ice can get wet. Water vapor can’t get wet. In the context of what Rags and Mauler is using Water in they are talking about the layman’s definition of water. Therefore water is wet. Rags is mixing the Layman’s term for water and the scientific term for wet. If he wants to argue water is not wet, he would have to concede that ice is not inherently wetting. As ice and water vapor is dry and can’t wet anything without becoming a liquid. Rags is wrong because of his language usage, his base argument is correct but he is using “water” incorrectly. Mauler is scientifically incorrect but in the context of which he is using water and wet is correct.

In order for something to be wet it needs to be solid. Water isn't wet, but ice is, even though they're the same molecule. You cannot remove the wetness from water therefore it's useless to attribute the adjective to it. It's like how saying "fast light" doesn't make sense because it's implying a "slow light" which doesn't exist because all light goes the same speed. Trying to say water is wet is just intellectual masturbation. It means nothing. Rags is right.
